"We... are the Witchcage."
"The Witchcage" is both the name of an enchanted suit of armor, possessing and binding the demon Maelfys within, and the name of the gestalt entity formed by the dual binding of Jennifer Black and the demon. Though Jennifer is capable of controlling the demon with the armor on her own, she is unknowingly programmed by fae magic to merge with the demon upon hearing a coded phrase and assume the gestalt form to protect and utterly serve Branwen du Morrigu. The armor, the demon and the woman are all one in the same in this form. They have no function but to be utterly devoted to Branwen and protect her at all costs.
History
When Jennifer Black was possessed by a demon, she and the beast were caged within a specialized tech armor created by Katherine "Kitty" Maddoc. Over time, however the demon Maelfys began to emerge and corrupt Jennifer. Seeking help, she called upon her lover Branwen du Morrigu for help. Branwen was able to bind the demon to her command by subverting its hold over Jennifer. With Jennifer's submission, Branwen was able to bind and control Maelfys, conferring on the demon the demeaning name "Fluffy" and then allowing the demon to hide within the Witchcage. She subconsciously gave Jennifer control over the demon, but only because the fae held the reins completely. When she speaks a coded phrase to Jennifer, Jennifer has no choice but to submit and merge with the demon, forming a gestalt entity.
Personality
As a gestalt being entirely devoted to Branwen and under her thrall, The Witchcage has no overt personality. When they speak, it is with a voice of two and they refer to themselves as 'we'. The Witchcage is utterly and completely devoted to Branwen. There is no desire that they posses other than complete submission to their mistress. That being said, the gestalt understands that Branwen and Jennifer are more in the 'helping' people business as opposed to 'hurting' people and will, if nothing prevents them otherwise, defend the weak and resist the corrupt and evil. Witchcage is referred to by Branwen as her "Paladin", a concept that Jennifer part clings to and will steer the gestalt towards heroism over villainy.
Abilities
A mystical fae knight imbued with the powers of a bonded demon, The Witchcage surrounds and protects themselves with shadowy armor from the Netherworld. This makes them difficult to see and offers immense protection from harm. The Witchcage armor is also magical platemail armor which confers incredible physical protection as well. Witchcage is able to summon a flaming sword which is their primary means of offense. Through fae and demonic magic, they can step between the folds of the world and pull enemies through the fabric of reality as well.
