Background
Origin
The man known today as Killer-Rose was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. With his father being a successful business-adventurist and mother a secondary school teacher, ????? ??? ??????? was set to live a comfortable life. The only child was spoiled rotten; given virtually anything he asked for within the means of their small fortune. At the age of seven their family relocated to Stockholm due to his father's career, and it was here that ????? first expressed interest in modeling while flipping through a catalogue. It was a combination of his father's slight pull in the industry, the money they were willing to shell out, just being an adorable kid and luck that ????? found work almost immediately. His first taste of success came in the forms of various a couple of product campaigns, and even a few commercials. The 'bigger' break didn't arrive until two years later, when he landed a coveted spot in the latest fashion online catalogue of the Beau Beau brand. Though their origin was drenched in mostly forgotten controversy, Beau Beau really began to blossom across Europe and Asia during the end of the 2000s. The casting agent was so impressed by not only ?????'s first shoot, but by ?????'s beyond-his-years career focused attitude and his look. She handed him a privilege that only two models of any age were ever given throughout their existence as a brand - a direct meeting with Beau Beau co-founder and chief designer Bastian Montier himself.
Montier was almost as impressed, but not fully there, wanting ????? to prove his commitment by giving him a full year scholarship at the newly established 'Beau Beau Modeling Academy' to monopolize the modeling agency circuit as well. For a year ????? spent 16 hours a week, before and after school, learning the ins and outs of the technical elements of the fashion and modeling industries; his parents signing him over through a contract that stipulated his Beau Beau exclusivity for just a single year. Various assignments allowed him to develop his craft, and provided an environment that enabled scouts for the various Beau Beau products, collections and campaigns to pick and choose child models as they pleased. Most peculiar was the shift in ?????'s personality after his involvement with the academy, but nonetheless, he finally won Montier over with his personality and work ethic. ????? was pitted against thirty other boys and girls of a similar age for a coveted spot to be the new face of the annual Beau Beau Kids campaign, and came out the victor in the end through whatever means were necessary. That year absolutely exploded, and soon ????? was becoming nationally recognized. Completing the Beau Beau contract freed ????? to find his own agent, and by then he was in demand. His parents settled on the agency with the biggest name: Inre Skönhet, who took him nearly to the very top a child model could ever hope to reach in Europe. For three years ????? was riding high with consistent work, though unbeknownst to him, his parents were taking more money from him than initially agreed to through the family accountant.
It wasn't until ????? was 13 that his life completely changed forever. Puberty brought his latent mutation into the light, which changed his body and terrified not only himself, but his family and professional connections as well. Though metahumans weren't completely unheard of (Stockholm having their very own supergroup), it caused a scandal not only for himself, but for his parents and their own careers. ?????'s career was put on complete hold, and found himself being forcefully enrolled in a special school for gifted individuals much like himself. The series of traumatic events through his life up until this point, minor or major, compounded in the behavioral problems that eventually saw him expelled from the school after only a few months. ????? decided to leave home in his despondent state; not because the world around him drained his self-confidence. On the contrary ????? he couldn't understand why everyone else didn't see how great he still was. As if he stalked ????? for several days, Bastian Montier approached him on the street around one of his newly-usual hot spots. Montier convinced ????? that he was the only one in his life that saw his true value, and took him in to prevent the pitfalls of drugs and alcohol. It was at this point that Montier revealed his direct relationship with the 17 Collective, an organization that developed advanced experimental and illegal products for European Black Market sale. Montier was the man who orchestrated heists across various banks and manufacturing companies to provide resources, whether in the form of money or materials, to said organization for a hefty price.
He employed metahumans, much like ?????, best suited for each job. It was for this reason that Montier spent much of his free time helping ????? get a grasp of his mutant abilities through trial and error. His intentions were not selfless however, and soon ????? started to become involved in various criminal activities under Montier's hand, dubbed "Kaktusblomma" (Cactus Flower). This career path continued for several years without anyone knowing his true identity, until a slip-up from a co-conspirator accidentally placed ????? within a situation in which the authorities caught a glimpse of his unmasked face. Soon the dots were connected, and once outed as a 'former child model turned criminal', he sought the help of Montier. Not wanting for this screw up to affect his own secret affairs, Montier ordered the assassination of ?????'s criminal partners during the night of the face reveal, and utilized his powerful connections to sneak ????? out of not only the country, but the continent. A brand new identity, background, birth certificate and all legitimate pieces of identification required to live within the very city said connection resided in, Paragon, was arranged within a couple of weeks. ?????, now Casper Wallin, was also gifted with an advanced image inducer courtesy of the 17C, and had a fashionable new costume designed by Montier himself, utilizing the same breakthrough technology to best suit Casper Wallin's physiological needs as used by Cactus Flower. Casper doubled down on his new identity and became the secret criminal known as Killer-Rose.
Public Civilian Identity
Casper Wallin was born in Paragon City on December 1st, 2000. His parents were killed during the First Rikti War, while his original documentation was destroyed in a fire and needed to be replaced. He was subsequently adopted by a Marlene Jameson in Providence. After graduating from secondary school, he spent the next five years in Boston attending Lasell College and earning a BS in fashion merchandising and communications. During this time, two other important events happened in his life. One, Marlene tragically passed away due to an underline medical condition, and two, he met Beau Beau's very own Bastian Montier during a chance encounter. Bastian deemed Casper as the most promising individual of the fashion world he had ever seen, and immediately hit it off. Casper decided to move back to Paragon City on a permanent basis in early 2023 when Montier offered him a coveted position within his newly established brand office in Independence Port. Casper also briefly worked as a clerk within the Atlas Park Mighty Mart floral department for a brief period of time prior to being hired by Beau Beau.
On August 31st, 2023, Bastian Montier announced his resignation as CEO and chief designer (that's right) of Beau Beau during a private fashion showcase event witnessed by some of the biggest names in the American fashion industry. Casper was appointed his successor, with Bastian remaining a brand consultant himself. The seemingly random choice of newbie successor for most people around Bastian caused a bit of a scandal, and rightly so. Casper decided to begin his new venture temporarily utilizing the Beau Beau office building in Independence Port as his primary base of operations while the brand began to lay its North American roots. After a couple of meetings going over logistics, it was swiftly decided that the primary NAHQ of Beau Beau in Independence Port would be moved to the more beautiful location of Founders' Falls.
Throughout September and October of 2023, Rose utilized his newfound resources and link to the 17 Collective to orchestrate a complete wipe of all possible information relating to his true identity (and alter what couldn't be erased in order to make it nigh-impossible for any still-living individual or organization to connect dots). This included the ultimatum given to his own parents from 17C, where they opted to cut all ties in their professional and personal lives, and live the rest of their days somewhere in Asia, adding hush money on top of their already high pile. The other side of that choice? Well, being murdered. They made the wiser of choices, regardless of being ignorant that it was their own son who pulled their strings at the heart of their predicament in the first place.
In January 2024, Casper Wallin travelled to Poland incognito in order to secretly meet with a big cheese of the 17 Collective. Both Beau Beau and the 17C arranged for him to attend a remote meeting, of which both Casper and Bastian attended together.
Personality Profile
Casper Wallin is mildly confident, relatively friendly and helpful, especially at the flower shop. He sometimes stutters when he's nervous, and comes off as 'being hot but not realizing' it. He seems to be prudent with his money and wastes none of it on fruitless things. This explains why he's the kind of man to have a very nice suit hanging in his small room of his small apartment.
Though never formally diagnosed, Killer-Rose's childhood traumas pretty much handed him a sociopathic brain wrapped up in a personality disorder. He believes he is special among special people; consistently telling everyone he's classified as an omega level mutant when he's actually an alpha. There is no question that he is handsome, but Rose knows he is EXTREMELY handsome, and works to keep his body in shape. He values the lives of good-looking people over those that are average or ugly, but, his sense of beauty is warped and doesn't appear to stick to any specific rules. He has no issue manipulating others for his own gain or doing what is needed to please himself: socially, professionally, sexually or all of the above at the same time.
While he is very capable of forming bonds with others, helping and working as a team to achieve goals, it requires Rose ALWAYS getting something for his trouble (this is where some of his better qualities come out, hinting at who he could've been had fate played out differently). He is social, charming, sexual, nigh-shameless, oddly open-minded, very capable of emotional acting, and usually has a sassy zinger or two in his arsenal. However... during times where he feels his control is being lost, he is very capable of temper tantrums, sadism and vengeance. Thorny and deadly as he can be, Rose prefers to leave killing as a plan B if manipulating doesn't work. It's hardly ever worth the mess. Want to get on his good side really quickly? Compliment him on something. Anything.

Thorn Protrusion - The primary aspect of Killer-Rose's mutation stems from the thorn-like structures his body creates, composed of a unique plant material specific to his DNA (The totality of his body can be classified as animal-plant hybrid). The thorns are technically considered an extra organ, and possess a very limited connection to his nervous system. These thorns have become a natural part of his body since the latent activation of his mutant attributes, and his other internal organs have shifted around to accommodate the space required. The thorns can be extracted, retracted and loosened enough to be projected at will.
Their unique composition renders their pointed ends extremely sharp and durable, and depending on the velocity at which they're projected, are strong enough to pierce through light armor. The thorns are hollow, and interestingly, the rest of the thorns' external shell structure can easily be disintegrated. The internal wall of the thorn shells are lined with endosperm attributes, and contain multiple plant embryos. The hollow space contains two primary substances: a green liquid, which fills the majority of the thorn's hollow interior, and a pink spore powder, which clumps together (evident by the pink visual portions of his thorns).
The green liquid contains chloroplast, plant enzyme proteins and a mild toxin, which causes symptoms of malaise, numbness and weakness. The pink spore powder is a psychoactive pheromone, which is absorbed into the body by ingestion or absorption through the skin (see Pheromone Emanation for details). Both substances are just as unique to Killer-Rose's DNA as the rest of the thorn structure. Traces of chloroplast can also be detected in his blood that originate from the thorn liquid, as it has a slightly darker colour than a normal human's.
Plant Creation - The plant-endosperm and plant-embryo attributes of the thorns enable Killer-Rose to utilize them as seeds, in which can be splintered or broken off and scattered. These seeds enable him to rapidly grow and manipulate various types of "mutant plants" directly relating to his own DNA (this propagation can be technically classified as asexual reproduction). The plants are distinguished through their varying amounts of pink colouring; containing the pink pheromone spores much like the seeds they grew from. The lifespan of these plants vary from a few seconds to several hours, and their resemblances with just as much variation are greatly influenced through Killer-Rose's own willpower and imagination. Killer-Rose has also developed a means of travel by 'vine swinging' using sporadically grown vines that stretch out from the tips of extracted thorns.
Pheromone Emanation - The pink-coloured substance contained within the thorns is composed of organic plant matter, monoterpenes and most importantly psychoactive androstenes unique to his physiology. When inhaled or absorbed, it affects others with both physical (causing a dramatic increase in endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin production at varying levels) and psionic (his own mental will over others once intoxicated) components. It is introduced into the systems of others via thorn penetration, through the spores of the plants he creates (the pink portions of all his plants are coloured so via these interior spore clusters), and through blown trails and clouds that Killer-Rose creates by crushing up the pink portions of thorns into a powder-like consistency. The psychoactive pheromone is also produced through his sweat, albeit in less substantial amounts. The pheromone spores affect the brains of his victims, warping their perception of him. He becomes more trusting, harmless, persuasive, comforting and attractive (sexually, mentally and emotionally), making those under its effects pliant, have lower inhibitions, become suggestible or outright controllable... sometimes even obsessed. Specific effects, and the magnitude of such effects, depend upon the intoxicated individual and the amount of exposure. It is common for victims to have little to no memory of what transpired while under the pheromone's effects. Though considered a toxic substance, the experience is mostly pleasurable.
Superhuman Regeneration/Enhanced Physiology - The enzyme proteins contained within the thorns have a unique effect on his own physiology, providing enhanced levels of physical regeneration. While his thorns are extracted and retracted, these substances are concentrated throughout the base of the thorns and released into his body, immediately numbing a majority of pain and closing the breaches created by the thorns, in addition to addressing injuries from outside sources as they spread further throughout his body. The more severe the injury, the longer the regeneration process takes. This also provides his body with enhanced endurance via limiting muscle fatigue, and renders his body highly resistant to afflictions of fungal and bacterial origin, and moderately/less so resistant to afflictions of other origins. It is theorized that his superhuman regenerative abilities will proceed to slow his physical aging once he fully matures.
Herbal Remedy - While not having the same magnitude of regeneration on others, this substance has proven to promote a more natural speed of healing when applied upon the small to moderate injuries of others, while the toxin provides a mild numbing of the applied area. The enzyme protein is also released as mist from some types of his created plants.
Abilities
Sharpthornshooting - Constant practice has allowed Killer-Rose to hone his thorn projecting techniques and accuracy to a very adequate level.
Close Combat - While not formally trained in any martial art, Killer-Rose has developed a street smart way of fighting through his days as a teenage criminal, in addition to what he's picked up as young adult. He readily uses his extracted thorns as offensive stabbing and slashing attacks, or defensive maneuvers.
Weapons and Equipment
Image Inducer - He uses an image inducer, in the form of a watch/wrist band, to change his appearance while in his civilian identity. This primarily changes the colour of his eyes, hair and skin, and is used in conjunction with a masking of his true Swedish accent. He has recently incorporated obtained technology that protects his mind from the telepathic intrusion of weak to intermediate level psychics.
Special Costume - That fashionable outfit that Killer-Rose wears (or at least partially wears) was developed utilizing the latest in bulletproof and fire resistant technology, while also able to flexibly adapt to the consistent extracting and retracting of his thorn protrusions.
Belt Compartment - Killer-Rose wears a special belt with several accessible compartments. These are used to store readily-available thorn pieces to be used as seeds, pre-made pheromone spore powder and whatever little items he keeps on his person.
Communications Technology - He makes use of basic communications technology provided to him by those he's affiliated with.
Other Skills and Talents
Trilinguism - Killer-Rose can speak fluent Swedish as a first language, and Danish and English as secondary languages.
Modelling - People don't understand all the hard work and skill that goes into being a good model! Killer-Rose knows how to properly walk, and has a grasp on photographic angles and lighting.
Fitness - In his never-ending vain quest to be at his best, Killer-Rose regularly exercises, tones and stretches. What he won't do is build any more muscle than he already has.
American Accent - He's been working on a more American accent (composed of a mixture of various New England shticks) to further mask his identity as Killer-Rose while assuming his civilian identity.
Weaknesses
Ignorance - Though he knows 'how' his powers work, Killer-Rose is still mostly ignorant to the specific details about his own physiology, and hasn't realized his full potential. For example, the psionic component of his mental will dominating those under the effects of his pheromones, is unknown to him.
Proper Resistance - Though he possesses strong willpower due to his use of his psychoactive pheromones, Rose doesn't possess any 'enhanced' form of psychic or magic related resistances.
Location, Location
The Killer Rose Garden - More like a flower maze with amenities and a catwalk, the Killer Rose Garden was once (foolishly) built as Killer-Rose's primary home and base of operations located Southeast of Croatoa. He utilized the time and manpower of pheromone-slaves combined with his eye for taste to start such a project.
However, following the destruction of the majority of the garden due to sloppy hero crashing of a fashion show and a fungus takeover soon after, the now old Killer Rose Garden was abandoned, while a version two is currently being rebuilt somewhere in the Nerva Archipelago. Rumour has it that he consistently pays off the Circle of Thorns, and need-to-know-basis Arachnos personnel to stay off his back in various ways, and is even becoming good friends with thorn trees! Another important thing of note is that instead of using pheromone slaves, he legally hires contracted employees with various landscaping, construction and design backgrounds, paying them very, very handsomely (how else is he supposed to lure labour into the Isles?).
The contract includes a NDA regarding the specific location and details of the Garden. If the threat of suing to affect four generations of their family doesn't work? Well... when everyone's high on Rose's pheromones in an environment full of his pheromone-emanating plants, they happily agree to do whatever Rose tells them to anyway!
