History

According to the limited information the FBSA has available, Amélie Dubois is a mutant of first generation, her parents and siblings having been entirely without powers. She was born and presumably lived with them in St. Martial up until 2005 during which an incident occurred that lead to the passing of everyone in her family but her. Arachnos made an effort to obscure as much information about what exactly happened back then as possible though according to unconfirmed reports, Dubois has afterwards spent somewhere in between one and three years in Arachnos captivity before eventually freeing herself. She then disappeared until 2013 when she contacted members of the Legacy Chain and Wyvern, going by her new name Screaming Star and offering her aid in taking down Arachnos. Since then, she's been terrorizing Arachnos operatives at every turn, indiscriminately torturing and killing them, often times leaving little but burned out armor with the symbol of the spider on it crossed out as well as the french phrase "L'étoile crie d'agonie et j'amène le silence." either painted in blood or branded into a nearby surface behind.

Thorough investigation and monitoring by a team of experts in various fields, have lead to the conclusion that her mutant power is to forcefully displace magical energy from the divine realm and freely control it. She does this instinctively. There is no spell casting involved in the process. When she draws upon more than just a negligible amount of this energy, she will temporarily have a golden halo floating above her head. As is the case with many more conventional users of divine magic, it usually manifests in the form of bright, golden fire and lightning.
