At some point, during an 'extended tour' of Paragon, Beatrice McAllister was waylaid by the Carnival of Shadows, the 'villain group' headed by sybarite and terrorist Vanessa DeVore.  Altho' Ms. McAllister avoided becoming yet another thrall to the Carnival, somehow her stage act was brought to life as the magical ability to control electric currents.  Using her stage name as her heroic identity, Mistress Ohm registered as a Hero, partially to defuse speculation on her past and her motives, and partially to gain the experience and proficiency needed to take down DeVore.

While there is considerable speculation that even now she is some kind of pawn of DeVore (along with the usual salacious gossip about her past), Mistress Ohm has maintained a strictly heroic ethos, only using lethal force against mechanical or supernatural targets, along with superpowered villains that simply would not 'go down' normally.  Socially she does not date, or mingle, keeping her private life private and clear of the paparazzi.

Synopsis

The heroine known as "Mistress Ohm" started out as a stage performer in various adult clubs up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Using chainmail mesh bodysuits and cages along with Van Degraff generators and Tesla Coils, she would "torment" fellow performers with arcs of lightning, set to various electropunk, synthwave, and other genres of music.

Her stage act no longer a viable source of income, and using her stage name as her heroic identity, Mistress Ohm registered as a Hero.
