In the early 11th Century, a meteorite crashed into an undisclosed location in the Middle East, granting special properties to the natural resources around it. It's legend grew, and soon numerous expeditions were launched by the Knights' Templar to search for this so called "Holy Grail". It was during the Third Crusade that Sir Thomas de Wordain, a brave, young knight known for his strict moral code and combat prowess was tasked with finding this "Gift from God" to help conquer the holy land from the "infidels".

A young squire found himself on a long journey, searching for this grail along with the Knights whom he served. Weeks turned into months, and months into years, all while fighting a war that seemed endless.

During his quest however, Thomas started to become disillusioned with the Knights' Templar, as he bore witness to their corruption and cruelty, witnessing heinous acts in the name of the Templar. He tried to confront his fellow knights, but they betrayed him; beating him brutally and leaving him for dead in the middle of the desert.

Despite the challenges, the squire remained honorable, and tried his best to stick to the code of chivalry. One night, during one of their stops at a small village, the band of Knights decided to satisfy their lust and greed by rampaging through the village, and ravaging the female villagers. The young squire did his best to intervene and sided with the villagers. This led to a final confrontation with his mentor, Sir Chivar de Creed, driven insane by the impossible quest assigned to him by the Templar. Their skirmish would spill over to the hidden underground cavern under the village, where the grail they had been searching for was located all along.

Lost and dying, Thomas began having visions of a large Pharaoh Owl. The owl guided him to a cavern nearby, which housed a lake with a giant owl statue, carved out of the meteor that landed there centuries ago. It was then Thomas realized that he had been led to the fabled Holy Grail.
As they fought to the death in the waters of the "Holy Grail", it's guardian stood watch, awaiting a victor.

It wasn't until Tripp turned 10 years old that he learned of the legend of the TalonKnight through journals and books kept in his father's study. He felt proud and disappointed at his father, not understanding why he chose "the cowards'" way out. Tripp felt like everyone should know, and that he should somehow honor his ancestor's legacy. It was then when he started bragging about what he read in his father's books and journals to his classmates at school. While he friends scoffed at Tripp's wild stories, the school Guidance Counsellor took notice and decided to learn more about the so called "TalonKnight".

Little did Tripp know, the Guidance Counsellor was actually one of the Worthington family's oldest enemies, spanning centuries of conflict with various bearers of the TalonKnight mantle. When Tripp got home from school that evening after soccer practice, he witnessed the Guidance Counsellor in his true form, engaging in combat with his father. Tripp hurried to his mother and older sister's side, as they rushed upstairs to hide in their bedroom closet. When the ruckus downstairs subsided, Tripp's mother moved him and his sister to the guest room and locked the door. The next fifteen minutes would be the longest of his life.

As he and his sister sat in the closet watching, the Guidance Counsellor came bounding into the room, with their father's head in one hand, and mother's remains in the other. He teased them to come out, calling them "little owls". Just as he was about to find them, Tripp's sister kicked the closet door open, while yelling at Tripp to run for his life. Distraught and afraid, Tripp hurried to his father's study, hiding atop the bookshelf. He could hear the footsteps of the Guidance Counsellor coming closer and closer to where he was hiding, humming as he searched the different nooks and crannies of the house for Tripp.

Closing his eyes, Tripp prayed that his end be swift. Moments before the Counsellor could discover Tripp, a large, dark burly figure came crashing through the window, engaging the Counsellor in combat. It was the TalonKnight.

"Beware, beware the TALONKNIGHT! His eyes of gold a frightening sight! Turn and run with all your might! The TALONKNIGHT hunts tonight!" -18th Century Nursery Rhyme

Thomas "Tripp" Worthington III was a happy child. He was oblivious to the fact that he had come from a long line of protectors known as the TalonKnights, and even more oblivious to the fact that he would come to inherit it one day. The reason for this was Tripp's father, Charles Worthington decided to forgo the family legacy, and build up the family empire instead, severely disappointing Tripp's Grandfather, the 19th TalonKnight. Charles felt that with the rise of superheroes during modern times, there was no longer need for a TalonKnight, and that he could contribute in a different way: philanthropy through the family fortune.
