A treasure hunter is a person, persons, or a team of individuals who participate in the pursuit, location, and acquisition of treasure ( ie. literal, symbolic, religious, and/or cultural in nature ), usually for personal gain. There are several classes of treasure hunter that exist, however, the broad description of the term is what is being applied in this definition. This does not, in any way, limit the definition of treasure hunter to the description above nor to the types of treasure sought out (like those listed above).
